By now I'm sure you've seen all the movie-related TV spots that ran during last night's Super Bowl. Now that we've had a chance to sleep off that hangover and congratulate our friends in Steeler Nation, it's time to take a closer look at some of these spots. We'll start with TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN, where we've posted a whole bunch of hi-res screengrabs from the trailer. One thing's for sure in the first footage we've seen from the film: Michael Bay and crew certainly have upped the ante. That giant robot you see at the end is only one part of the giant Constructicon and that does look like a Dinobot as well. You can click on each pic below to bring up a much larger version to examine for all kinds of clues or just soak in the sweet robot goodness.

That's like killing off Indiana in Temple of Doom, which would technically mean there would be no Raiders ;) .

Optimus may die in the 3rd one, and that may be a great way to end the trilogy. Anyone upset by the fact the tank in the first Transformer was named "Devastator"? Thing got smoked anyways, but still...do they still call this new giant robot Devastator or something else?

My prediction: Optimus dies and they have to use the matrix of leadership to save the day.

Just a hunch. I'm looking forward to more robot carnage except I'd really like to see a few humans get stepped on this time around.

i love how people on these boards get so pissed off that people dig transformers. dude some people just dig watching giant robots blow shit up and are fine w/ it. if you are so anti, then why bother reading the articles about the film... much less comment on it.

Apple/com/trailers has posted all the Superbowl spots and you can download them in HD and go frame by frame.

If you watch the shot of the transformer busting through the window and transforming in midair, you will notice that in the last few frames Arcee follows him out the window and begins to transform into a motorcycle in midair as well

That's no Dinobot, it's ravage, the dinobots are not in this, and dud who asked for proof it was one part of Devestator. It is only one as we have already seen the toy. look in this site own messageboard and you will find the proof you need.

That Constructicon clearly was the toy mentioned in the link, and Optimus just so happens to fit perfectly to scale. Devastator could very well be almost 30 stories high...

the problem with the first transformer movie is that people wanted to actually see Robot v. Robot. i dont care about the humans. the military cant take down a Decepticon literally a couple days ofter first meeting one. problem was, after waiting through all the stupid little humans and their part of the story, the battle between robots wasnt that good. i mean they acted like stupid Giants

this is just like the build up to the first transformers film. i got really excited by all the advertising and when the film came out i couldnt believe how bored i was by big robots beating the shit out of each other while stuff blows up. However, im always willing to give things another chance so bring it on Michael Bay!

Is Ravage the new Scorponok- where he only has a raw beast form?. Because It looks like the 5th picture down is a Jaguar car. So I'm wondering if Jaguar Raw form is his prototype form until he formats into a Jaguar car?

Umm, where was it stated that the Gigantic Rollerbot in the trailer was only "one part" of Devastator? I keep seeing people post that it's only half of the character, but where did this news originate?

Macro-
No one went into Transformers wanting a story. They wanted one long battle sequence after another. The story is incidental. No one wanted a cure for cancer, they just wanted a special effects showcase, and the people who liked it are the people who got exactly what they were expecting.

Just because u don't like transformers doesn't make you the high and mighty. I enjoyed the film for the huge fun factor it was but being such a miserable tight arse you wouldn't get it.

Just chill and skip the film if you don't like it, don't lecture us.

looks like more of the same.

a michael bay movie MUST HAVE:

1. a shot in every movie he does with meteors (or something similar) falling to the earth
2. a shot with a navel fleet with some or all of the boats being destroyed
3. a shot with a combination of both

Armaggedon vs Godzilla? Boy your memory must be bad, because Godzilla opened in May and Armaggedon opened on the July 4th weekend. The last time I remember two expensive summer movies going head-to-head was Pirates of the Caribbean vs League of Extrodinary Gentlemen. Or, we could go back to the summer of 84 when Ghostbusters and Gremlins went head to head - opening on the same day.

God, I loathe Transformers and I can't figure out why people think it's a good movie. Does no one realize the writing is terrible? Are you so blinded by special effects that you can't see that there is no story here????

a funny thing is how in the movies characters always find these empty locations, even deserted streets....lol

would be funny if bruce wayne, the joker or optimus prime got stuck in traffic..

"Indecipherable mess" is absolutely right... just like the first movie. Even a lot of the screen shots up there just look like a photograph of a landfill. I'm sure I'll see it, but I won't be happy.

I'm sure I'll see it opening weekend, though most of the trailer was an indecipherable mess. I'm it's just because it's out of context, but dang, how do the animators work through that?

Wow, honestly I couldn't make a thing of what I saw in the trailer, even after 2nd viewing. But from those snapshots above, I'm really looking forward to this one now. Prime looks hurt bad and what the heck is that thing above Bumblebee picture? A Dinosaur?

I did enjoy the first one for the action scenes it did have. Most of the non-action scenes were either really corny and/or really boring. Let's hope Revenge is more action, less bullshit.
Both writers have a very hit-or-miss record. So... fingers crossed!

Robot Battle Royale
It seems that this Robot movie is playing secound fittle to Terminator this year. Im sure Transformers will make a lot more money but in terms of what will be remembered as a good film I think it will go to Terminator. That Super Bowl spot seemed like it was modled after the Terminator teaser as well.
