Hear the music! Five new clips from Les Miserables, starring Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, and Anne Hathaway

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

With the upcoming adaptation of LES MISERABLES set to drown theaters in a sea of tears and emotion this holiday season, these new clips will serve as a reminder to bring some tissues for those that are subject to emotional outbursts.  Director Tom Hooper shot the film with the actors singing on-set rather than lip synching to pre-recorded material, which is the norm for musicals, and the difference is astounding.  These clips show how different the impact is when the actor isn’t basically in a “sing-a-long” and actually performing the material.  It looks like the gamble will pay off in spades.

For a movie that already looks amazing, these clips serve as evidence that this will be a film to contend with and likely solidify itself as the adaptation of the long-running stage musical.  And this is coming from someone who generally hates musicals.  With all involved, LES MISERABLES, has stationed itself as a movie not to be missed in theaters.

LES MISERABLES, starring Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried, Helena Bonham-Carter, Sacha Baron Cohen, and Eddie Redmayne opens on December 25, 2012.
