Here's a sneak peek at the second trailer for Jose Padilha's Robocop

11.05.2013

What did we learn from the first ROBOCOP trailer? Apparently we learned that we were split down the middle. I'm remaining optimistic because of director José Padilha, Michael Keaton, and Gary Oldman. I was happy to see that some people were also just as open as I was when it came to checking it out. Sure, we love the 1987 version. Plus they filmed some of it near where me so I feel a closeness with it. That said, I get it. I'm not telling you how to feel about the remake but I'll reserve true judgement until I see the thing.

Entertainment Tonight did another one of their "trailer sneak peeks" for the second ROBOCOP trailer which is set to release on Thursday. It's not enough footage to say "Hey that looks better" but it does show BOARDWALK EMPIRE's Michael K. Williams who is a badass.

His line in this did kind of make me laugh though.

Here's the peek:

Synopsis:

In RoboCop, the year is 2028 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Overseas, their drones have been used by the military for years -- and it's meant billions for OmniCorp's bottom line. Now OmniCorp wants to bring their controversial technology to the home front, and they see a golden opportunity to do it. When Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman) -- a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit -- is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp sees their chance for a part-man, part-robot police officer. OmniCorp envisions a RoboCop in every city and even more billions for their shareholders, but they never counted on one thing: there is still a man inside the machine pursuing justice.

ROBOCOP hits theaters on February 7, 2014.
