Here's the Superbowl teaser for The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Jan. 30, 2014by: Niki Stephens

Spider-Man has got a lot of his plate if this teaser for THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 is an indication. Were you kind of hoping for more? Well, this was the teaser for the spot that will play on Superbowl Sunday. So if I watch the Superbowl, are you saying the trailer is going to be worth it?

Theres a better look at the Rhinos mechsuit (I cant believe Im saying that). More Electro terrorizing Spidey. A two-second look at Dane DeHaan as Harry. Will they reveal all the villains for the Superbowl trailer? I hope they do.

Check it out below.

"You wanna be the hero? Now you gotta pay the price."

Synopsis:

Weve always known that Spider-Mans most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead. Its great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, theres no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 hits theaters on May 2, 2014.

I really enjoyed the amazing spiderman and I was one of the original skeptics on a reboot. However I really like the direction that Marc Webb seems to be going. I personally felt the Characters were were more fleshed out in his version and generally felt like it was a better film. I thought the comment about Andrew Garfield coming across as a douche was funny, as the Raimi's Peter Parker spent a lot of time feeling sorry for himself. So yeh Im all for the continuation and I usually hate

I don't get it

I don't get why they release the super bowl commercial before the super bowl? What's the point of spending all that money to show it during the super bowl then? I know the rest of the world will be watching the super bowl anyways, but shouldn't CBS be concerned? It doesn't make sense at all.

'I know the rest of the world will be watching the Super Bowl anyways'.
Have you been outside the North American continent? Get a passport. Cross an ocean. Observe. Repeat.

At the end of the teaser is says "See what happens next, Super Bowl Sunday." I think that means they're going to show another one.

So, presumably, that last scene does not result in Gwen Stacy's death, right? Because that looks like it will hurt big-time. This is one of those cases where I'm alternately excited and indifferent for a movie because there are elements that are both encouraging and discouraging. I did, unexpectedly, enjoy TASM 1 so I guess I'll probably end up liking this too.

There's so many bad things about the last film that makes me not want to watch this one but being a comic geek I cant help but feel kind of excited, even if its a half-asses excitement. Is Gwen gonna bite the dust in this? Maybe, it would be quite awesome if they did it cause its such an iconic moment from all of comicdom that just seeing that moment transpire on the big screen would make me feel like a kid again and pull on my heart strings. If they go down that road I soo hope they can get it

Until they give us something new with this franchise I just can't get excited for it. New themes, new narratives, etc. Just something to separate it from what we've already seen.

Spider-Man is not campy? The last movie was accused of trying to be too dark and serious, since the Spider-Man character is supposed to be fun, now you consider this too campy?

Well, it's not Sam Raimi's Spider-Man, a man who rarely ventured in camp territory, isn't that right Emo Peter?

By the way, too campy is the current Spider-Man animated series. That show is basically a superhero sitcom.

Call me crazy, but...

...I seriously don't think Gwen is going to die in this movie. I mean, who spoils the death of a major character in a commercial for a commercial?? It'll be a classic bait-and-switch. Tease the iconic death, get the fanboys all whipped up in a frenzy, but when the movie finally comes out, she either doesn't come close to dying, Peter saves her like any other time, or the film ends on a cliff-hanger where she looks like she's about to die. But in any case, I have a feeling the death will happen

Everyone knows Gwen Stacy is going to die. In fact, people would be surprised if she didn't die, and there are many who would probably approve of this change from the comics based on Emma Stone's performance alone.

Film looks great and looks much improved over the first rebooted film. I was very skeptical at first, but it looks like we'll have another good Spider Man film again.

I just hope they didn't show us the scene where Gwen snaps her neck.
