Heroes Alum Jack Coleman Returning for Heroes Reborn miniseries

06.17.2014

The first official casting news surrounding NBC's upcoming HEROES miniseries reboot, HEROES REBORN is a pretty good catch. Jack Coleman, a.k.a. Noah Bennet, is back! He was the most frequently seen character in the series so it's not a real surprise they wanted him back for formality sake.

The news was confirmed by the show's official Twitter account with a new picture:

Noah Bennet was a former Company agent and father to Hayden Panettiere's cheerleader Claire Bennet, and was nicknamed HRG (the name given to him by fans, meaning "Horn-Rimmed Glasses") before the character's name was finally revealed on the show. Deadline reports that many of the show’s original actors have been approached to return, although Zachary Quinto and Milo Ventimiglia are currently unavailable.

Original series creator Tim Kring is on board to run the 13-episode "event series" that will feature an all new cast of heroes. Rumors were circling that some of the original cast might pop in for cameos or recurring arcs. I gave up on HEROES during season 2 and heard I escaped quite the train wreck. The first season was fantastic; I suspect pressure to keep the quality got to the writers and creators as the show went on.

Did you watch the entire series? Will you tune in for HEROES REBORN?

Excited to see this show get a second chance. Watched the original in its entirety and it peaked at the end of S1. What followed is still detached from the first season for me. Never quite saw it as even being the same show. It was that bad.

They probably bit the idea to do this after 24 announced Live Another Day. Main difference though is 24 was successful. Heroes is one of the most disappointing shows of all time. You can't blame it on the writers strike. The strike affected Breaking Bad also and look how that turned out. Heroes was a case of just plane bad writing.

I hope this turns out well, as season 1 was fantastic. To me, they ended up going in too many directions and tried to do too much rather than taking their time to explore things. Is it needed? No. But the prospect of something that could be even close to season 1 will have me at least curious enough to check out.

Season 1 was brilliant. The writers strike killed the series. The season 2 DVD set goes into a lot of what they were originally going to do story wise which was quite interesting. Instead of Nathan getting shot like he did in S2 it was going to be some super virus that was going to run rampant through the heroes community. I'll give this new series a shot just because it's an interesting world Mr Kring created and the cliff hanger the series ended on needs to be answered.

Apparently somebody wants it. I said something similar and we both got downvoted. Probably the two Heroes fans who visit this site...

Heroes was a show that was so badly hurt by the writers strike nothing could have saved it from cancellation. There were so many plot points that went nowhere and lazy retcons done on the fly while it shamelessly copy-pasted popular Marvel and DC storylines. I loved the concept of the dangers of having superpowers in a real world setting, but they better have clearer direction this time around.
Also, HEROES REBORN? They ripped off another Marvel storyline. :D

Glad to see him back, but I'm still pissed that the show treated Nathan Patrelli like shit. They killed him off so many times, only to bring him back and do it again. He was my favorite character and I was disappointed that he didn't make it until the very end of the series.

I watched the whole thing, the show was a mess. Tim Kring isn't someone I trust (Touch anyone?) . But good on NBC for becoming the Genre network with Hannibal and Constantine this could be cool in a 13 episode thing if they go for a single story arc instead of whatever the fuck season 3 was

Does anybody give a damn about this? I jumped ship at the end of season 2. And it was a struggle to stick around that long.
