FRENCH PERSON!

These are freaking great, but AMOUR takes the cake for me. :D

I've seen Lincoln, Silver Linings Playbook (a solid flick, but a tad overrated, in my opinion) and Zero Dark Thirty. I'm hoping to catch Life of Pi sometime this week.

I've seen all the movies save for Amour and Life of Pi. Amour I missed because it hasn't screened anywhere near me. Life of Pi I skipped because everything I've heard about that movie convinces me I'll hate it.

I like 'em. Especially the Les Miserables tag line, and the quote from The New York Times.

But Michael Haneke is not French.

Yeah I was gonna point out the that Haneke is Austrian, but then I thought it could be taken as part of the joke.

If they weren't calling them "honest" I wouldn't have said anything.

Haha!

The Academy Awards are complete bullshit, 8 or 9 movies receive every nomination. I have never understood the politics of the Awards - but I despise what it is. How in the effing world can 2 or 3 movies have an actor nominated for each category as well as best director and best piocture? Are you telling me that these handful of movies have struck gold and everyone involved in this one, two or three films is that much better than any of the hundreds of other actors who put out work that year?

Screw you academy

Great posters

I've seen pretty much all of the nominated films: Lincoln, Life of Pi, Django Unchained, Beasts of the Southern Wild, Zero Dark Thirty, Silver Linings Playbook, Argo, and Les Miserables. I just haven't seen Amour.

Beasts of the Southern Wild, Argo, Lincoln, Django Unchained and Silver Linings Playbook (saw it twice, easily my favorite film of 2012)
