House of Devil Poster

HOUSE OF THE DEVIL poster

Before today I had absolutely never heard of THE HOUSE OF THE DEVIL, but one quick glance at the plot, poster and trailer and I’m actually curious enough to wanna watch it. And that’s really something coming from someone who dislikes most horror movies.

The indie film and its promotional campaign are quite unusual in that everything feels like the 80s, which is the film’s setting; the brand new poster looks like it was made circa 1979, the trailer is far from the formula we see all of them made from these days, and it stars the grossly-underrated Tom Friggin Noonan whom I still relate to MONSTER SQUAD.

While the promo material looks retro, the release strategy is anything but: the film comes out on Xbox Llive, Amazon and Video on Demand early October, THEN in theaters in time for Halloween.

The movie follows a college student who agrees to babysit in a creepy far away house, unaware the owners have much darker plans for her. Now watch this trailer, courtesy of our buddies at AITH, and tell me this creepfest isn’t a kick-ass alternative to the yearly SAW release!
