How The Walking Dead is hoping to keep that big season 7 death under wraps

The Walking Dead Negan Rick Grimes

If you haven't yet caught up with the sixth season finale of The Walking Dead, look away, for here be spoilers. For the rest of us, there's been but one question on our minds as we settle in for the long wait until the seventh season's October premiere, who the heck was on the receiving end of Lucille?

If you need a refresher, the sixth season came to a close with many of the characters bound and presented to Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), the charismatic psychopath who Rick Grimes and company had been hearing about all season. Fans were assuming that Negan would make an example out of one of those characters and brutually bash his or her brains in with his barb-wire covered bat affectionately known as Lucille. While that did happen, the identity of which character met his or her maker wasn't revealed, leading to quite a lot of frustration from viewers. The biggest question after the identity of who was killed was how the heck were they hoping to keep it a secret all summer? With set photos and leaks a reality for almost every production, they have to assume that the information will leak at some point, so how are they hoping to keep their big secret under wraps? According to THR, they hoped to circumvent those leaks by filming a death scene for EVERY character present in that line-up.

Those characters include Carl (Chandler Riggs), Rick (Andrew Lincoln), Michonne (Danai Gurira), Eugene (Josh McDermitt), Maggie (Lauren Cohan), Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green), Daryl (Norman Reedus), Aaron (Ross Marquand), Rosita (Christian Serratos), Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) and Glenn (Steven Yeun). Although just one of those characters won't make it past the opening moments of season seven, here's hoping the rest will end up in the bonus features for the season seven Blu-ray/DVD release.

Place your bets, who do you think is pushing up the daises?
