Academy Award winning former American Idol contestant (holy hell, that’s one doozy of a combination!) Jennifer Hudson has joined the cast of quite possibly the most successful filmmaker working in Hollywood today Tyler Perry’s latest offering THE FAMILY THAT PREYS TOGETHER. The story follows “two families from different sides of the tracks that become intimately involved in love and business.” Presumably one family’s White and the other’s African American. Sanaa Lathan, Kathy Bates, Alfre Woodard and Rockmond Dunbar will also be starring. Perry, of course, wrote the screenplay and will direct and co-star in the film. Production is scheduled to start March 2nd in Atlanta. The film marks the sixth time Perry will team up with Lionsgate and the sixth time the entire Lionsgate staff get down on bended knee to thank the sweet Lord Perry hasn’t decided to switch studios. Hudson can next be seen as Sarah Jessica Parker’s sassy assistant in the upcoming SEX AND THE CITY.
