Veteran producer Gale Anne Hurd knows her genre material — she worked on such classics as THE TERMINATOR, ALIENS and T2, right up through ARMAGEDDON, THE INCREDIBLE HULK and the impending PUNISHER: WAR ZONE.
Hurd obviously still prowls the comic shops looking for material — her company Valhalla will produce a flick based on the Canadian comic GEARHEAD. The superhero/road-trip smash-up involves a tough hottie who takes up her family mantle to fight a conspiracy in a corrupt government of costumed heroes. Along the way she flies a jetpack, deals with a bar full of zombies, and hits people with a wicked big wrench.
Hurd recently mentioned a desire to work with JUNO star (and former mutant) Ellen Page on a comic/superhero project — could this be the one?
