Jack Huston is shy. With reason.

Summit Entertainment is in quite a hurry to rake some profits off Stephenie Meyer's Twilight novels, with the third film just about to start production while the second is still 3 months away from release.

So the TWILIGHT news du jour is a casting addition to said third film ECLIPSE in the person of one Jack Huston, grandson of the legendary John. Grandpa would be so proud of you, young man...

Jack will be handling a character called Royce King II, who apparently was a fiance of Nikki Reed's character Rosalie during the Great Depression. Wish I could say more, but I'd need to read the book for that.

Filming is set to begin this month under director David Slade, for a June 30, 2010 release date.

Extra Tidbit: Jack is also part of the upcoming TV show Eastwick, based on the same John Updike novel as the Nicholson film WITCHES OF EASTWICK.

This part is unbeleivably tiny...it takes up maybe one page in the book.

I wouldn't say the part is that tiny.
Spoliers...if anyone cares.

With Slade directing I'm sure he is going to latch on to any chance to do some nice visual violence. There's the whole attack rape thing but remember Rose hunts all of them down after she's turned and tortures and kills them. Royce she goes after in her wedding dress as the bride from h...

There's the whole attack rape thing but remember Rose hunts all of them down after she's turned and tortures and kills them. Royce she goes after in her wedding dress as the bride from hell. So yeah, could be a juicy, well bloody, little part.

Don't ask why I know this but his character helps his buddies beat and gang rape his wife/Nikki Reed's character, which is when she is found and turned into a vampire before she dies.

I'm no fan of Twilight,
but it doesn't get as hot and bothered like I'm seeing people get here. I get the feeling that seeing people go ga-ga over something kind of dumb makes people feel uncomfortable about their own film fetishes.

Either that, or the very idea that somebody might make and market a series of films with some demographic in mind besides your own is somehow infuriating.

Here's a great tip for dealing with movies that somehow insult your integrity as a consumer, or compromise your identity as a film buff(!?) - just avoid them, and shut up about it. Not liking Twilight doesn't make you a cool kid automatically - so get the fuck over it already.

They must not have much faith in the attention spans of the fanzies. Is pre and post prod is being handled by completely different teams for each one? Seems like a terrible idea.

They are really rushing it, and the first film was bad enough, I got a feeling these will get even worse...
