I Want That: Patron x Guillermo del Toro tequila

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

The phrase “deliciously evil” has never been more appropriate than it is now.

Yesterday was National Tequila Day, and in celebration Patron announced an exclusive brand of tequila made in partnership with the one and only Guillermo del Toro. Together the two have created the ultimate liquor for honoring the dead…or for just having a good time with an awesome conversation starter on the table. The bottle design, box illustrations and drink itself are all meticulously crafted to reflect the haunting beauty of del Toro’s work while exuding the spirit of Mexican culture.

Patrón x Guillermo del Toro is a meeting of two masters; one of dark films and one of tequila. An altar to the ritual of drinking tequila, this limited-edition product features a skull and skeleton shaped bottle housed in a box intricately illustrated with dark images that reflect Guillermo del Toro's take on Mexican culture. Nestled into the deep red interior, the bottle contains 750 ml of blended extra añejo tequila and 100 ml aged orange liqueur.

This limited edition drink is going for an outstanding $475, and pre-orders are open now at Reserve Bar on a first-come-first-serve basis. When they’re gone, they’re gone. Take a look at some images below, and if you’re not a tequila drinker, better make an exception for this blood-red concoction.
