Ian McShane will return as Winston for Chad Stahelski's John Wick sequel

Keanu Reeves won't be the only familiar face returning for the JOHN WICK sequel, THR reports that Ian McShane will be reprising his role of Winston, the owner of The Continental, a hotel for assassin's which "caters to the hit-person community with its discretion, on-call doctors and no-killing rule." McShane didn't have a ton to do in JOHN WICK, but he was, as he always is, a very welcome addition to the film. Hopefully we'll get to see even more of Winston this time around.

Chad Stahelski will be directing the JOHN WICK sequel solo this time around as his partner in ass-kicking, David Leitch, will instead be directing Charlize Theron in THE COLDEST CITY. The JOHN WICK sequel is set to begin shooting this week but still seems to be putting its cast together as it was just this afternoon when we found out that Common would be playing the sequel's chief villain, "a head of security for a female crime lord."

We don't know much about the plot of JOHN WICK 2 , other than these vague hints from Keanu Reeves:

I think we have a really good premise, and it’s an organic premise. It’s basically — to me there’s John Wick and then there’s John. You know, John is the married guy whose wife just died, and that five years of his life. Then there’s John Wick, who’s the mythical assassin. In this, John Wick’s past comes and infiltrates John’s life and John Wick, in a way, has to fight for John.

JOHN WICK 2 has no release date at the moment, but we can probably expect it to land sometime in 2016.

Cool, his character was cool for how much he was briefly in the movie. Heck, if the whole sequel took place in the hotel, I wouldn't complain. I love how the world was set up, and the hotel was a big part of that. I do hope we can see more of it. The first film kind of teased with all these really cool aspects.

I agree with those below, I actually love that they are keeping this aspect of the world that John Wick built in tact. The Continental felt like the anchor of this movie's world to be honest. So having McShane back is welcome news.

Glad to seer that the universe set up in the first film will be expanded upon by having Winston and the Continental making another appearance. One of the coolest things about the first film was the assassins world that was established and all the rules that came with it; sort of like a moral code amongst hit men.

Knowing that they're bringing back Winston and The Continental is comforting to know. It means that my anticipation is not simply based on the goodwill that the first movie generated.
