Indy 4 starts filming?

Dec. 30, 2006by: Omar Aviles

Indiana Jones IV We know, we know, we've been here many times before but several of you have emailed us about the Associated Press reporting that George Lucas has announced that filming for INDIANA JONES IV will start next year for a May 2008 release. To which we have to say whaaaaaa??? Lucas actually approved a script? Spielberg actually committed to directing this flick next year despite the eight thousand projects he has on his directorial plate? Maybe this is just Lucas being optimistic about the whole thing. Maybe he's just tired of the incessant questions about INDY 4 so he just blurted out "yes, we're filming next year!" as a way to shut everybody up. Or maybe Lucas wasn't just yanking our chains. Maybe the ball really is officially rolling. What do you guys think? You think this is really gonna happen next year?

No, no, it's right !!

No, it's right ! I play indiana Jones ! The script is very very good : no child making jokes, no E.T., no nazis too, no horse, no whip, no hat, in fact... no camera too...

Right on

All I care about is that all three of them are doing this movie. Magic will happen.
I hope Indy discovers remains of a Hobbit with a stick of cryptonite in one hand and a lightsaber in the other. :)

Please just don't do a restart , something that seems to be in fashion these days , and cast some young hotshot in Indy's earliest adventures . Just give me some old ass , grizzled , cynical Ford whipping butt , romancing women , and searching for some artifact that will / could change the destiny of mankind :D .

Yeah right...

..and if you believe that, then you'll believe that I just had a threeway with Allison Hannigan and Kate Beckinsale.

Lucas had better not be fucking around. I'll be looking for a follow-up story to this but if it's true, very cool.

Yeah!

If they get the story right they could make a great 'old but still kicking!' Indiana Jones. And indeed there is all ways the apprentice angle that can be used. Done though, I'd prefer a rusty but still cunning Jones kicking hiny old school

10poundbrown - With ya!

Funny... I feel the same way. At the very least, Ford could take the Connery role and be a father and bring in... Orlando Bloom (just kidding) or, even better, Colin Farrel to be the younger Indie. With Spielberg and Lucas both on board.. .wow!

Oh please, oh please, oh please....

Could work

I mean, even the new Rocky movie was well recieved, and Indy is a character far more suitable for a old age role. Doubt a new Jones movie will rock like the first did, if only for the 'been there, done that' factor that will likely apply to this one, but I'd still be happy to check it out.

I think this movie is gonna suck the big one. Don't get me wrong, I love the other three (from best to worst, it's 3-1-2 for me), but this one? No.

sounds great

its been slated for a summer 08 release for a couple of months now, there was news of location scouting last summer, which makes sense because if they are scounting a location exactly a year before they film then they get an idea of what the location will look like in that season, which means they'll probobly start filming around march into the summer.

If George Lucas is actually specifying years and months instead of "sometime soon"-ish speculations, then this HAS to be serious.

Color ME excited!

Only once I see it...

Until I see set photos, I don't think I'll be able to believe it. How long exactly have they been jumping through production hoops and slowdown after slowdown with this movie?
