Schemes & betrayal are afoot in first Inhumans teaser

05.05.2017

This has been a good week for INHUMANS news, with a teaser poster kicking everything off and a first look at the Royal Family. To end the week right the first teaser has dropped for the show, featuring an eerie voiceover from Iwan Rheon’s Maximus. Things just got super ominous in here.

Check it out!

Clearly with some schemes being hatched here, the show will focus on the coup against the king of Attilan, Black Bolt (Anson Mount), by his brother Maximus. Bolt and the remainder of the Royal Family then escape to Hawaii and must figure out how to save the world from the dastardly villain. What with the onslaught of INHUMAN goodies coming at us this week chances are Marvel is going to ramp-up promotion here. This means a full trailer could be hitting the web soon, filled with superhumans showing off powers and big dogs chasing comparatively small mail trucks. I mean there's a lot to look forward to when a new trailer drops, but that's obviously the big one.

INHUMANS airs on IMAX screens on September 1 before hitting ABC on September 26.

Well that was disappointing. I've said it numerous times but I'm a huge Marvel fanboi yet this, this property is turning into an abortion the more it releases. The fact that this should have been a theatrical release not a tv series on a budget that can't handle the effects needed. The fact that the costumes look like 90's comic movies rejects from Party City. And now the teaser trailer is just a couple words. The MCU, for as successful as it is, is basically full of shit when it says its all

The MCU, for as successful as it is, is basically full of shit when it says its all connected. The TV and Movies aren't connect other than an occasional name drop on TV referencing movies. No connection between TV shows on networks. AOS doesn't mention Netflix shows. No movie mentions TV shows at all. They basically lied to us when they told us it was a shared universe. And now we get this, and if the Inhumans aren't referenced in anything else Marvel theatrically, then we know its all bullshit.

Still reeling from the lackluster Iron First, the fact that Daredevil and co...or Shield...don't get any mention in each other's world...or in the movies...or the other way around...now a show...that really ought to be a movie that is a significant part of the MCU...but won't get treated as such if the other TV shows are anything to go by...is on the way...and I'm starting to get somewhat disappointed by it all. Still extremely early days...but surely I'm not only one whose initial thought upon

Still extremely early days...but surely I'm not only one whose initial thought upon seeing the cast photo yesterday was...a 1990's (possibly 1980's) Marvel TV show (or made for video movie)? Hopefully Guardians will put some much needed vroom back in to my MCU hyper engines tomorrow.

Correction, Matt Rooney

"This has been a crap week for INHUMANS news..."

Yeah, they've shown us a cast picture and now a teaser both of which have blown big time. Not exactly what I'd call a good weak. Maximus' voice over isn't bad, but it does sound awfully cliched, and whoever he's talking to (Crystal?) has all the line delivery of a wooden board.

Really wish this ended up as a full feature film for Phase Four and beyond (or whatever they are calling it) instead of a television series that will no doubt not have the same impact as it could have on the big screeen.

I hope this bombs. I can't help it I just hate the tone and everything I've seen so far. Marvel trying to get people to go pay IMAX prices for this low rent cosplay is such a deparate money grab for a company that doesn't need it. If you're going to debut a TV show on IMAX it better look like it belongs in an IMAX theater.
