International 60-second spot for Skyfall with Daniel Craig rocks the house

Sep. 19, 2012by: Paul Shirey

Sometimes shorter is better and I think that's the case with this new international spot for SKYFALL, the 23rd cinematic adventure of James Bond 007. Starring Daniel Craig as the martini-drinking, ass-kicking, lady killer, the new entry looks like an action-filled romp with all the intrigue, twists, and gadgets to satisfy the most ardent fans. This international TV spot is a lengthy 60 seconds, but encapsulates the trailers we've seen thus far quite well with a fast-paced, tightly cut spot that is sure to get your blood pumping for November.

Get in on the action:

SKYFALL is kind of the icing on the cake for the Fall movie season to me. We've got Hobbits, Tarantino, Abe Lincoln, Liam Neeson, Wachowskis, Jack Reacher, and James-f*cking-Bond. Really, that's a hell of a line-up and that's not everything. SKYFALL, directed by Sam Mendes and starring Craig, Javier Bardem, Judi Dench, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Brnice Marlohe, Albert Finney, and Ben Whishaw, is slated to infiltrate theaters on November 9, 2012.

Love the shot at the end of Bond dropping into the ripped open train, barely balancing himself and immediately fixing his cufflink.

Tidbit: I'd love to see Sean Connery play an iconic villain as his true departing role from cinema.

YES!

This is looking like it will make up for the subpar Quantum Solace. Bardem is looking amazing as a Bond villian. Srsly Bardem could make a career playing nothing but villians.

I apologize on behalf of my Taiwanese brethren, for that horrendous voice-over *facepalm*

Either way, I can't wait!

That was such a well-put-together spot. Too bad about the rather jarring voiceover at the end.

Re the extra tidbit, I would love to see Bond up against a British villain once again. Perhaps Ian McKellen or Anthony Hopkins could portray a former MI6 agent, perhaps a colleague or possibly even former romantic interest of M's, who resurfaces to seek long-overdue vengeance, with Bond caught squarely in the fray.

this feels like . . . .

the dark night version of bond. Casino was a fantastic reboot for the series and Quantum was definitely thrown together poorly (but it's still bond damn it!) so it seems to me that Skyfall is going to be the bar setting film in the series. Bardem seems to have a crazy "Watch the world burn" type of demeanor and it will be very refreshing to see bond go after a villain that isn't necessarily driven by money. GOD I CAN'T WAIT!!!!

Looking forward to this and I hope it's a recovery from Quantum, which I didn't feel so much was bad as it just wasn't all that exciting. I have to say, though, that the Chinese at the end made me laugh.
