International trailer for Chan-wook Park's Stoker with Nicole Kidman and Mia Wasikowska is seductively cool

The new international trailer for Chan-wook Park's STOKER, starring Nicole Kidman, Mia Wasakowska, and Matthew Goode has arrived and takes a less creepy and more seductive approach than the U.S. version. Although I was sold on the prior trailer, this one is better chopped and uses Death in Vegas' song "Dirge" to its full potential. It's always cool to see a happy marriage of images and music and I think this is a great example.

Have a look:

I'm excited and curious to see this more so for Park's involvement than anything else, as it's always a gamble when a filmmaker makes the jump into Hollywood features. I think he'll be a good fit judging by the trailer, but you just never know. Kidman is still a stunner in my opinion and can act her ass off, Wasikowska has got the not-so-innocent look down pat, and Goode looks like a perfectly smooth psychopath. I love these hot mess family stories. Reminds me of the holidays, just with less murder.

STOKER is slated to be released in 2013.

Extra Tidbit: Chan-wook Park and Nicolas Cage teaming up together would probably yield some epic results. Who would you like to see him work with?

Holy fuck! This looks so good! How have I not heard of this!? End of 2012 & 2013 seems almost too good to be true for movies. There are so many things that I want to watch now... Hopefully this will make up for the lack of earlier 2012.

Stoker is shaping up to be my most anticipated movie of next year. From the very first ET exclusive I could tell Park was imbuing this with a pure cinematic style that would set it apart from just your run-of-the-mill thriller. The shot compositions have a particular beauty to them that is rare.

I'm also intrigued by the tenuous inspiration of Shadow of a Doubt. While this looks far more perverse, that minor Hitchcock classic shocked me particularly for Joseph Cotten's portrayal of another

I'm also intrigued by the tenuous inspiration of Shadow of a Doubt. While this looks far more perverse, that minor Hitchcock classic shocked me particularly for Joseph Cotten's portrayal of another Uncle Charlie. Mostly familiar with the actor for his nice-guy roles in Citizen Kane and The Third Man, it was a complete about-face. No offense to Orson Welles in The Third Man, but while I consider that a superior movie, Welles only wished he was as menacing as Cotten was in Shadow of a Doubt. That's my opinion anyway.
