International trailer for Rian Johnson's Looper with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis is bloody good
There's actually quite a bit of new footage in this international trailer for Rian Johnson's LOOPER, but some missteps in the use of music. However, if you can tune out the wailing strings, the new shots are pretty damn cool. Starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bruce Willis, Emily Blunt, and Jeff Daniels, LOOPER is shaping up to be one of the must-see films of the year with every new piece of marketing pushing the film further and further into awesomeness.
I mean, really, I'm already at the "shut up and take my money" phase for LOOPER, so there isn't much more to elaborate on. I've got a good feeling about the whole thing, so my fingers are crossed for a kick ass ride and some head-tripping sci-fi goodness to wash it all down with.
Here's the synopsis:
In the futuristic action thriller Looper, time travel will be invented – but it will be illegal and only available on the black market. When the mob wants to get rid of someone, they will send their target 30 years into the past, where a “looper” – a hired gun, like Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) – is waiting to mop up. Joe is getting rich and life is good… until the day the mob decides to “close the loop,” sending back Joe’s future self (Bruce Willis) for assassination. The film is written and directed by Rian Johnson and also stars Emily Blunt, Paul Dano, and Jeff Daniels. Ram Bergman and James D. Stern produce.
LOOPER is set to open TIFF next month and will hit theaters on September 21, 2012.
