Interview: Liev Schreiber talks Goon!

Mar. 26, 2012by: Eric Walkuski

We've seen Liev Schreiber tackle a large variety of roles: He's been a hiss-worthy villains (WOLVERINE, REPO MEN), a crime scene investigator (“CSI”) and a concerned parent with the world's worst kid (THE OMEN). But we've never quite seen him like we do in GOON, where Schreiber plays a rough-and-tumble hockey legend named Ross Rhea. Rhea is the meanest man in the sport, a “goon” whose job it is to beat up other team's players... Although he's not necessarily all that bad of a guy.

Recently I was able to sit down with the great Mr. Schreiber to talk about his GOON performance, the challenges of ice skating, and why hockey seems like it's the least-represented sport in the movies.

"My character's not really based on Bob Probert, but he was in my heart while I was shooting it.
