MACHETE began as an idea Robert Rodriguez had back in the early 90s when he was making DESPERADO and first met Danny Trejo. Over 15 years later, the full-length MACHETE adventure is finally in theaters tomorrow.

We caught up with the two driving forces behind MACHETE - Rodriguez and Trejo - to talk a little bit more about what it takes to get a film like this made. Hint: YOU had something to do with it! Yes, you! Take a look at what they had to say below...

Just saw the midnight showing. Afraid to say (but understand) that it was me, and 5 other people in the theater. Movie won't make any money in theaters, but hopefully will find life on home video.



The movie itself?? BAD ASS. Totally worth 10 bucks. Hell I'd pay 20 for it. All the scenes from the Grindhouse trailer fit in brilliantly with the movie and the movie doesn't take...

Nothing bad to say about it all. Nothing. We even get Lindsay Lohan actually looking hot and showing her tits!

Pure greatness.
Can't wait for this movie. One more day! Fuck yeah! Check out Mr. Trejo in the documentary "Champion". Netflix even has it available in streaming. You learn alot about this great man. He paids his dues, and then some. Alot respect for Danny. "Machete don't text." Tears welling up as I type this. Happy tears. Viva Danny!!!

From gang banging in his youth, to now to the big screen he deserves everything second! Unlike those that grew up with a silver spoon in their mouth, I do enjoy and appreciated to see Danny Trejo making each step!!
