Were you lucky enough to snag a peek at IRON MAN 2 during Comic Con this year? Me neither, which is why I’m pretty pumped that the footage has (at long last) leaked onto the internet for public consumption. No, the quality isn’t phenomenal as it’s a bit hard to hear at times, but it could be worse and it is well worth watching.

The five-minute clip runs through a number of scenes, including a meeting between Stark and Fury, a congressional hearing questioning Stark’s possession of the suit and an action montage where we get our first looks at Whiplash, Black Widow and even War Machine in motion.

Impressions? It looks pretty awesome to me. RDJ is in typical wisecracking form, and tone of the sequel seems like it's thankfully going to mimic that of the first. No need to go “dark” here. I’m still not sold on Whiplash (the suit, even with electric whips swinging is pretty awkward), but War Machine looks incredible. Your thoughts?

I gotta agree there, War Machine looks sweet! That clip from when he and Stark are back to back fighting the drones was awesome! I'm going to try to get Iron Man 2 tickets to an IMAX theater and I think it would be great to see it on the big sceen!

Looks good but please keep the comedy to a low guys. It's an action movie remember. We'll wait for Rogen's sh**ty Green Hornet to come out when we're ready for a comedy.

Not really sold on Gary Shandling and even though I really like Cheadle I still wish there would have been some continuity for Rhodes but all in all it looks decent. Anyone else get the impression that this production was rushed? Favreau stated before that there should be three years in between sequels and not two.

Wow, this footage is bada**. Whiplash is better than I thought he would be and Rourke looked like he was having a blast. And War Machine is ... War Machine!!

Damn, didn't realize it was that far away. Seems like there's good dialog, gotta have that, Sam Rockwell is a plus and I LOVE that Tool's Forty Six&2 is part of that montage.

Looks good, but I still don't see how they are going to make whiplash a credible villain when his body isn't even protected by armor.

War Machine looks great as far as this goes. The War machine body movement really makes that shot. Whiplash looks good too, but have to see more of him in action.

impressive
I was never really blown away by the first one, but I will admit that I was pretty impressed with what I just watched here. And as far as the scenes goes, BHak88, I thought the courtroom scene was the best part.

They should've just shown Action Footage. I like Robert Downey as much as the next person, but come on Favreau, spare us the witty dialogue scenes that all sound the same in all of your movies. We already know they're in the film, so let's keep it out of leaked footage.

Looked very raw in some parts, but what's to expect? They're still cutting and editting the movie as far as I know. And it's still 9 (?) months 'til its released. :) Still got me hyped as f*"¤!

...or does Iron Man's suit look like pretty cheap plastic in the Donut scene? I agree with Creasy below. Maybe it's because this leaked footage is a bootleg or maybe it's because the film hasn't gone through the color correction / final touches process yet to make it look like eye candy.



It still has the vibe of the first film. Effects look badass. Whiplash looks 'early stages'....

Wow... this footage also looks like crappy digital camera... (no, I know, not the footage the footage was shot with, the film, ironman, itself)... god please no. hopefully it just looks that bad because of the camera it was filmed with.

Wow, this movie looks even better than I could have imagined! The cast is so bad ass! War Machine looks incredible! And Mickey Rourke didn't look lame at all! Short range weapons or not, the dude looked like he'd fuck you up! The only downside in my opinion is the Rhodes switch. Not that I like either actor more than the other, I just hate when I have an image in my head of a certain actor...

Im curious to see what kind of threat Whiplash is going to be. The original Whiplash in the comics was a chick. But honestly, all Iron Man would have to do is hover about 50 feet above him and start unloading on his ass.

whiplash looks SO LAME!! i mean iron man has at least 4 weapons of long distance but whiplash doenst have anything threatening .....of course i dont know nothing about him in the comic books but if those two things r all the weapons he'll use..WTF!!!!??? i still dont see scarlett kicking some ass...i just cant. The only good thing is war machine who i hope wont be just staying still and firing...

I hope we get a official trailer soon. This is was bad-ass, especially the Whiplash. My mouth drop when I saw that scene. He looks way better and scarier than Iron Monger. War Machine looks great too.

I had been searching for this footage for over a week now. I'm glad I was finally able to see what was shown at Comic-Con. I think the movie looks cool, I'll be there in May to see this thing.

I think i came in my pants when i saw WARMACHINE.... wasn't really into him in the comics, but when i saw how he came out in the movie i was AMAZED.... CAN"T F@#KING WAIT FOR THE MOVIE!!!!

It's the Court Room Scene...
..that does it for me. The key to the first movie's success is how grounded in reality it was, and Favreau has done the same here. Of course the military would try to impound Iron Man and his suit; of course his competitors would try to steal his secrets, and finally of course, the baddest criminal mind would try to use the technology for their own purposes.
