Jun. 28, 2013by: Niki Stephens

There's definitely a divide when it comes to feelings on IRON MAN 3. I'd say the "twist" caused the most controversy but the majority were entertained. It's Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, you should always be entertained. The Blu-ray/DVD/digital combo has two covers. Both of which you will be able to check out below. Unfortunately, there's no news on the Peggy Carter One Shot. So we don't know if it will be there or not. Regardless, I think there's some pretty good stuff here.

Here are the details we have on the release:

When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy's hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?

It is the worst of the Iron Man movies imo. But it is still good. And it certainly had some great special effects. So, looking forward to it.

MAJOR SPOILERS FOR THE MOVIE

Are you still reading?
If you haven't seen it, turn back now.
Okay, you've been warned.

I loved the Mandarin twist, mainly because I hated their version of the Mandarin. I get that people are upset about the fact the character doesn't really exist in this world, and now probably never will, but had they NOT done the twist, we would have been stuck with Osama Ben Kingsly, not the Mandarin. It was the never the Mandarin, regardless of what they called him. It was just another terrorist with

It was the never the Mandarin, regardless of what they called him. It was just another terrorist with the name of a popular supervillain. And I much prefer them saying he won't exist than saying he does and getting a version of the Mandarin that doesn't resemble the character at all.

I'm glad the description says "synopsis" and not "plot" because it really didn't have the latter. Anyway, I'll probably own it eventually just to keep my Marvel collection complete but I won't be rushing out to buy it at full price.

Ah! You're right, I meant the latter. Another sarcastic quip ruined by rushed grammar. Well, what ya gonna do?

Can't wait for this Blu-ray to come out. If this is the last Iron Man film (and I have my doubts it is the last film), then it was a perfect way to wrap up the trilogy.

I would have loved to have a lenticular cover for the 3D edition (yep, I'm THAT shallow), but they're not bad.
Still, the bonus materials are a bit weak, based on that resume...

That's not the actual Blu-ray and DVD packaging, that's merely something pretending to be the Blu-ray and DVD packaging.

I didn't mind the twist with The Mandarin, if they are making these somewhat reality based, a villain who uses 10 magie rings to me seems a bit cartoonish so I guess this was the best way instead. Thats just how i look at it. I get the backlash but it just didn't have tha affect on me. Anyway will be added to my collection!

You have to admit that it would have been great cinematically. It's like he would fight 10 villains at once. And, with Avengers, last year, and Guardians Of The Galaxy coming, the 'cosmic' origins of the rings would have been less unrealistic in the MCU...
Just my opinion...

As a big fan of Iron Man comics, I never warmed up to the Mandarin character. He's too over the top, a mustache-twirling parody of a villain, and frankly, pretty racist. The twist actually made him more palatable.

I love how all over the Internet the fans hate Iron Man 3 and think Man of Steel is the greatest movie ever. I loved IM3 and I still really liked MOS.

Great film. Definitely my favorite out of the trilogy despite all the backlash it has gotten from other fans. Nothing but non stop fun and excitement.

I'm just glad they used that photo for the cover since it was my favorite poster from the film.

Looking forward to listening to the Shane Black/Drew Pearce commentary for this one. I'm sure they'll have lots to say about the waves of backlash following the release of the movie.

I agree, but don't count on it. A lot of times the commentaries are now recorded before the movie even releases. There's a chance they'll talk about it regardless, because they had to know they were making a risky move.

I asked Drew Pearce about the commentary on twitter, they recorded it 2 days before the movie came out over here. So I don't think we will be hearing about how the fan boys hated it. (which I for the record, loved the movie)

Thanks for the info - that's too bad, but I still really enjoyed the film and want to hear them talk about it.
