Is Ghostbusters 3 in trouble AGAIN? Directors might walk away?

Last Updated on July 22, 2021

I’d say take this story with a grain of salt, but when it comes to GHOSTBUSTERS 3 problems, I’m pretty much inclined to believe anything.

Jeff Sneider of The Wrap tweeted the following just a little while ago:

Hearing LORD & MILLER ended up walking away from GHOSTBUSTERS 3 job. They were the studio’s choice but wanted to keep their options open…

Phil Lord and Chris Miller are, of course, the directors of the hugely popular and profitable CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS, 21 JUMP STREET and THE LEGO MOVIE. It was only a few weeks ago that the duo had apparently been picked to helm the long-awaited sequel, but obviously a deal was never done, hence their apparent departure.

Lord and Miller could still end up directing GHOSTBUSTERS 3… or perhaps they were never securely attached to the film to begin with. Whatever the case may be, rest assured that GHOSTBUSTERS 3 is still being plagued by negative rumors and perilous speed bumps. Some things never change.
