It's Jon Snow versus the volcano in the second trailer for Paul W.S. Anderson's Pompeii

Dec. 4, 2013by: Niki Stephens

You guys are going to kill me but I don't hate what I've seen for POMPEII. I have no shame in saying this either. Sure, it's not super spectacular but the cast features a lot of actors I like. So, f*ck it. I may not see it in theaters but I will eventually watch it on DVD.

If you weren't into it then the second trailer might be more convincing. There's a ton more action here, not to mention that it's not just Jon Snow Kit Harington just brooding while a volcano is a few minutes away from eliminating his existence. Okay, maybe it happens a couple of times. My only complaint is not enough Kiefer Sutherland. Bring on the Kiefer!

"Whatever is happening here we'll find freedom, my friend."

Synopsis:

a slave turned gladiator finds himself in a race against time to save his true love, who has been betrothed to a corrupt Roman Senator. As Mount Vesuvius erupts, he must fight to save his beloved as Pompeii crumbles around him."

POMPEII hits theaters on February 28, 2014.

That is some Uwe Boll-level production values there.

Well this movie is completely ridiculous. Historians have said that the volcano super heated the air so much that everyone was literally vaporized.

Please correct me if I'm wrong on this, but once the volcanic ash is all around them, they were done. Right? There is no "outrunning" it. It burned their lungs and they suffocated.

Anyway, this trailer looked better than the last. It definitely has my interest.

I think of this movie as "Titanic" because eventually we know Titanic hit the iceberg and then sank. Yet movie makers squeeze the love story between Jack and Rose in the event. I think the same goes to Pompeii.

In Hollywood, people are fully capable of outrunning fireballs and explosions.
