Jackson Stewart currently writing Beyond the Gates 2

I don’t know if you guys have seen director Jackson Stewart’s awesome 80’s throwback flick BEYOND THE GATES starring Graham Skipper, Chase Williamson, Brea Grant, and Barbara Crampton. But if you haven’t, do so immediately. Especially considering that Stewart just old Shockwaves that he is currently writing the sequel!

Yes, not only does Stweart have BEYOND THE GATES 2 coming our way in the (hopefully) near-future, but he is also working on a new post-slasher flick called THE DAY AFTER HALLOWEEN which follows, “a character named Alice Caldwell, the sole survivor of a Halloween night massacre, soon finds herself under intense scrutiny from the local media. As she struggles with the traumatic aftermath, a mysterious presence begins brutally murdering anyone who’s wronged her.”

This all sounds like good horror times to me… other than the fact that the plot rundown sounds exactly like Rob Zombie’s HALLOWEEN II… Shrugs. All jokes aside, I for one am glad to hear that Stewart is not only working on the script for BEYOND THE GATES 2 but that he’s keeping himself busy with new, ORIGINAL horror projects as well.

Synopsis:

In the wake of their father’s mysterious disappearance, two estranged brothers — responsible Gordon and reckless John — reunite to sift through the contents of his stubbornly anachronistic VHS rental store. Among the inventory, they discover an interactive VCR board game, which their father viewed just before he vanished. Intrigued, the boys pop in the tape, press play, and soon discover that, far from an ordinary game, the video is a portal to a nightmarish alternate reality.
