James Cameron to direct an adaptation of The Informationist

Oct. 23, 2012by: Niki Stephens

What in the world will James Cameron do after the AVATAR films? A book adaptation perhaps?

A press release has come over the web wire stating at Cameron has signed on to direct an adaptation of Taylor Stevens' novel, THE INFORMATIONIST.

The novel, published in 2011 centers on, "Vanessa Michael Munroe, an information specialist, whose work is in-demand by corporations, heads of state, private clients, and anyone else who can pay for her unique brand of expertise. When a Texas oil billionaire hires her to find his daughter who vanished in Africa four years ago. Munroe finds herself back in the lands of her childhood. Betrayed, cut off from civilization, and left for dead, she must come face-to-face with the past that shes tried for so long to forget."

Cameron will produce with Lightstorm partner, Jon Landau. They are soon to seek out writers to adapt.

The director said this about the book, Taylor Stevens Vanessa Michael Munroe is an intriguing and compelling heroine with an agile mind and a thirst for adventure. Equally fascinating for me is her emotional life and her unexpected love story. Im looking forwarding to bringing Vanessa and her world to the big screen.

Stevens' wrote another adventure for Munroe with his second novel published earlier this year titled, "The Innocent". Will Cameron take on the sequel if it comes about? Because as you all might already know, James Cameron doesnt do what James Cameron does for James Cameron. James Cameron does what James Cameron does because James Cameron is James Cameron.

If the title doesn't change, it will be the first movie he directs that doesn't start with T and A.

James Cameron is on one the best directors out there, and it is a shame that we have to wait through years of Avatar movies before he gets back to more interesting projects like this.

I enjoyed the shit out of Avatar, but I have no desire for a sequel. The Avatar universe just isn't THAT interesting.

Now that's what kind of films I love seeing Cameron take on, not Avatar sequels.

This ought to shut all the Avatar haters up. As a self proclaimed Avatard I have no desire to see this movie whatsoever. I'm just glad that I get two Avatar movies before this thing sees frame one of production. Sucks that it looks like it curtains for Battle Angel Alita though.
