James Franco might play Hugh Hefner in Lovelace
Can you imagine him in a smoking jacket with five girlfriends?
James Franco is currently in talks to have a cameo as Playboy founder Hugh Hefner in LOVELACE, an upcoming film from the directors of HOWL. Franco was originally a possibility for the male lead of the film but it didn't work out, and Peter Sarsgaard got the role.
Amanda Setfried is playing the title role of Linda Lovelace and will follow her rise to fame with DEEP THROAT, as well as her subsequent breakdown. Franco would only be on set for a single day, his screentime limited to scenes in which Hefter welcomes Linda to the Playboy mansion for a screening of her famous film, as well as a heart-to-heart talk.
The film is now in production in LA with Peter Sarsgaard, Hank Azaria, Wes Bentley, Bobby Cannavale, Chris Noth, Robert Patrick, Sharon Stone and Juno Temple.
