Jamie Bell says Fantastic Four does not have a post-credit stinger scene

07.15.2015

It has become an assumption on our part that every superhero movie would come with an arbitrary post-credits sequence. After Marvel Studios perfected the stinger scene (as it is officially known), they even incorporated it into every single episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. But, as audiences have grown accustomed to seeing them, directors and producers have started to get wary lest the gimmick become a cliche unto itself.

With Josh Trank's FANTASTIC FOUR running the gamut from fan punching bag to potential kick-off point for 20th Century Fox's cinematic Marvel universe, the question has been asked as to whether the reboot featuring Marvel's first family will have a post-credits sequence. MTV asked the main cast at Comic Con and they deferred to Jamie Bell who gave this response.

No we don’t have a post-credits scene. It does leave the door wide open for a lot of different movies. I think this movie really focuses on the origins of each character individually; how they get their powers, how they learn to deal with them, how they learn to harness them. That’s kind of where the movie ends. But then there’s so much more to go on from there...it really leaves the door open.

So, there you have it. While Fox has already announced a sequel is in development for FANTASTIC FOUR, there is still plenty of time to call that off if the movie tanks at the box office. The latest trailer seems to be alleviating some concern about the tone and style of the new movie but everyone doesn't seem to be convinced. Check out our Comic Con coverage regarding FANTASTIC FOUR and more.

FANTASTIC FOUR hits theaters on August 7th.

Well...

I'd rather have a FF scene BEFORE the end credits...
I guess I'll have ti wait for the next FF reboot !
(never liked Ultimate FF that much, so the fact that it's closer to it isn't a good point to me)

I only watched the attached trailer because I wanted to laugh when they called Jamie Bell the muscle, this trailer didn't have that so now I'm extra disappointed, heh.
Why didn't they do anything to his voice post transformation? Nothing about him says intimidating. Oh, but Reed still wants to fix everyone, so they at least kept that aspect of the story. I'll redbox it, won't pay theater prices for sure.

Once again. More news that just irritates me.

So Jamie Bell is literally saying this movie has no need to exist, it shows how each member learns to deal with their powers and it just ends. What is the point of this movie existing then? It is already treating the audience as if they have NEVER seen another super hero film. No kid is going to want to sit through something that just looks so boring. I showed my little brother and two sisters the trailer for Star Wars, F4 and Ant Man, I wanted to see what 10-15 year olds were most interested

Guess what, F4 looks like shit to each one of my younger siblings. The most hype was garnered towards Star Wars and they all said Ant Man at least looks fun while F4 looks so boring. I don't think I even showed them the original F4 movies, I spared them on those films and at least they had interesting trailers.

Just wondering....when 8 year-old Reed made the car disappear, did you expect him to say, "Now THIS is pod racing" or is it just me?

Oh god, was that the Thing's voice? I'm really hoping that's just the trailer editing.

Good less screen time for it to suck even more. I could care less if there was a stinger, because I could care less this movie was even made. I won't be seeing it, so I'm glad there is no stinger to make the suck last longer. If there is a stinger for Xmen or something, I'm sure I'll see it online or read about it.
