Jamie Foxx's next
Two times in the past few years, Jamie Foxx has been damn close to being nominated for an Academy Award. First for ANY GIVEN SUNDAY and more recently for ALI. He's turned out strong performances in both films yet this is how he's rewarded. Apparently, he's attached to star in INGLE WOODS an urban take on HAPPY GILMORE combined with a spoof of pro-golfer Tiger Woods. I thought about this the other day when I saw an old Jamie Foxx movie on cable. Why does he do this crap? Are quality roles that thin for talented black actors? I'm thinking if you give this man a chance, he can hit the ball out of the park. But he'll have to make due with this fish-out-of-water film about a poor black golf wizard who goes pro in a traditionally white sport. Hardy-har.
