Jamie Lee Curtis returning in new Halloween film in 2018!

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Back in February, it was announced by John Carpenter himself (via his Facebook page) that David Gordon Green (PINEAPPLE EXPRESS) and comedian Danny McBride would become the chief creative forces behind a new HALLOWEEN film. At first, a lot fans (myself included) were all like, "Whaaaaaat?" Then, Carpenter also revealed that he would be coming aboard the project as an executive producer and consultant. While emitting a collective sigh of relief, those who were skeptical of the project's merit were quickly put at ease. With Carpenter's blessing and involvement, there's simply got to be a solid plan in place, right? Well, guess what, Jamie Lee Curtis is back, y'all! Surely, that's a very good sign that we're in for a treat!

Today, we've learned that Green and McBride's HALLOWEEN will arrive in theaters on October 19, 2018. Thankfully, the new film will NOT be a remake, but rather a continuation of the story of Michael Myers, the franchise's emblamatic masked killer. In regard to the new film, Jamie Lee Curtis returns to her iconic role as Laurie Strode, who comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago. Green will direct the movie that will carve a new path from the events of the 1978 original film.

Above, you'll find an incredible photo of Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode – who is now a fit silver fox who's ready to throw down with one of horror history's most malevolent madmen. When she shared the photo online, she included that words "Same porch. Same clothes. Same issues. 40 yeasr later. Headed back to Haddonfield one last time for Halloween. Release date 10/19/18." Oh Ms. Curtis, you're giving me chills!

How do you think Laurie will finally take Michael down? What sort of elaborate kill could ever hope to finish him off for good? Tell us your predictions and ideas in the comments section below!

HALLOWEEN is now set for an October 19, 2018 release.
