Jared Leto now also a part of the Blade Runner 2 cast
It wouldn't appear that Jared Leto has been "tricked" into joining the cast of BLADE RUNNER 2. By all accounts, he has chosen to sign onto the sequel of his own volition.
Leto will be a part of Denis Villeneuve's follow-up to Ridley Scott's 1982 sci-fi original in a role that remains under wraps, much like every other aspect of the film. What I can tell is that he probably managed to negotiate rock climbing into his contract this time around with Alcon Entertainment and Warner Bros.
The 30 SECONDS FROM MARS rocker is another cog in the ensemble of Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Robin Wright and Ana de Armas that Villeneuve has assembled. With any luck, his scenes won't be drastically cut this time around, although it should be interesting to see how he approaches his method acting for this particular picture. Will he have a replicant made of himself to actually perform in his place while the movie is in production and he perhaps takes an extended vacation or maybe even takes the band on tour? Or does he have something else in mind?
Plus, how long before we hear of turmoil on the set when he sends Harrison Ford something he's not too fond of and there's a throwdown between the two?
Oh, man... This is going to be interesting.
BLADE RUNNER 2 (or whatever they wind up calling it) is scheduled to open on October 6, 2017.
|Extra Tidbit:||The average distance between Earth and Mars is 225 million km, which takes longer than 30 seconds to travel.|
