All that babbling about another AMERICAN PIE movie with all the cast coming together is really happening. Well, so far…
The Wrap got the exclusive that Jason Biggs, Seann William Scott and Eugene Levy are already signed on for AMERICAN REUNION. Universal is currently in negotiations with Thomas Ian Nicholas, Tara Reid, Chris Klein, Mena Suvari and Jennifer Coolidge. They also hope to get Alyson Hannigan, Shannon Elizabeth, and the rest of the original cast for this one.
Thank God. I don’t think I could handle another direct to DVD AMERICAN PIE movie. Including all those, this would be the 8th film in the series. Not counting those, it would be the 4th.
Earlier today, word got around that Seann William Scott would be going to rehab, which was kind of a shock to me. His rep said this in a statement, “Seann William Scott has voluntarily admitted himself for proactive treatment to address health and personal issues. He appreciates the support of his many fans at this time.” An individual close to the film’s production said that his time in rehab will not effect his involvement.
Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg (HAROLD & KUMAR) are writing and directing. Paul and Chris Weitz will executive produce.
AMERICAN REUNION has a start date of May 24th.
