Jason Lee/Tom Green
It's had more name changes than Prince but the Jason Lee/Tom Green college comedy has finally settled on an official title - STEALING HARVARD. It was initially titled STEALING STANFORD and from there went on to PROMISES, PROMISES, STEALING U, THE PROMISE, SAY UNCLE and a handful of others. In the end the decision came down to a disagreement with Stanford University's directors who insisted the film's plot conflicted with their policy on financial aid. The film follows a man who has to raise the money he promised to his niece for college tuition. But Stanford says their policy is to never reject a student based on financial concerns negating the whole gist of the film. Harvard was more flexible and the decision was made shortly after meeting with that school's officials. The film underwent minor reshoots and ADR sessions to insert the name "Harvard" into the film's dialogue. STEALING HARVARD opens on October 11th.
