Jason Momoa says Aquaman saved Superman in Man of Steel

For several years there's been a fan theory making the rounds that Aquaman (Jason Momoa) actually crossed paths with Clark Kent (Henry Cavill), albeit off-screen, all the way back in MAN OF STEEL. One of the early sequences in the Zack Snyder film found Kent saving workers from a collapsing oil rig in the middle of the ocean, but, after ensuring the workers are able to safely get away, the rig collapses around him and he's tossed into the ocean, where he sinks nearly unconscious into the depths. Then, seemingly out of nowhere, a pair of whales arrive and the next thing we know, Clark Kent is safely on dry land.

The long-standing theory imagined that Aquaman sent those whales to save Clark Kent, and now, Jason Momoa himself has confirmed the theory during an interview with DC All Access.

In Man of Steel, when Henry [Cavill] is saving the oil rig and he’s holding that up, and all of a sudden he kind of floats up on the ocean, he’s [Zack] like ‘I had Aquaman save him so that they did cross paths at one point.’ So then when Bruce goes ‘You ever heard of…Superman?’ I have met him and we have crossed paths.

JUSTICE LEAGUE will hit theaters on November 17th, so be sure to check out a review from our own Paul Shirey!
