Jim Carrey will now be hanging with Mr. Popper's Penguins
Jim Carrey, I will always love you. I just want to throw that out there before I start today's second article involving you.
Mr. Carrey will be going from possibly fronting a cover band to owning a shit ton of penguins.
Back in June, the actor was looking at starring in the lead role for the adaptation of MR. POPPER'S PENGUINS. Well, the studio has now locked him in the part of the high-powered businessman who inherits six penguins. Carrey beat out other actors like Jack Black, Ben Stiller, and Owen Wilson. This apparently due to the fact that they got him for a decent price. Should that make me happy or sad?
The script has taken a different turn from the original book written in 1938 by Richard & Florence Atwater, it's now going in a "upscale direction" according to Deadline, "As he gets acquainted with – and increasingly attached to – his winged roommates, Popper’s life quickly unravels: his swanky New York apartment is turned into a snowy winter wonderland, the deal he’s long been working on is derailed, and he almost lands in jail. "But thanks to his new charges, Popper comes to understand the importance of family – human and otherwise."
Anyone down for this?
