Jim Carrey has a been a little...off the mark lately with his comedies but he has one coming up that I'm really looking forward to. No not YES MAN but I LOVE YOU PHILLIP MORRIS. The dark comedy (from the writers of BAD SANTA) tells the true story of con man Steve Russell (Jim Carrey) sentenced to prison who falls in love with his cell mate (Ewan McGregor) Phillip Morris. When Morris is released from prison, the lovesick Russell sets forth on numerous attempts to try and break out of jail to be back with his true love. Sadly the film doesn't have an American distributor yet but I'm sure that'll change once the film has finished post-production and can be shopped around. The website for Europa Corp (the production company) has updated with the first official still from the film that's bound to raise a few eyebrows. It all looks pretty damn funny and I still get a kick out of that billboard that Arrow took some photos of out at Cannes. Wouldn't this make a perfect Valentine's Day film?

yikes !!
as a straight guy, why is it that 2 guys kissing just looks kinda, gross...yet 2 chicks is unbelievably hot???

im all for same sex marriage, as long as both chicks are hot (to quote the t-shirt).

will this count as a chick flick? (after coming to death race, iron man, dark knight, etc with me, i need to take my lady to one "for her")

I agree with WalterKovacs. I'm curious to see how they handle this as a comedy. When I first heard about the story I thought it was a drama.

Doesn't seem like the premise for a comedy.

Damn! I loved Bad Santa....so I expect greatness from this film! Hopefully it'll get released out here....or I'll have to cop it from one of the many booths int eh back of the convention center at next year's comic-con.
