JJ Abrams' monster
Jun. 30, 2007
Given the encompassing nature of the internet and the increasing number of street commando film fans, it's not easy for any feature film productions to remain a secret for long.
JJ Abrams has done a pretty good job so far -- his hush-hush creature-feature, apparently currently titled CLOVERFIELD, will have a teaser trailer (described by Alex at First Showing as "the craziest and coolest trailer I have EVER seen!") shown when we all go see TRANSFORMERS next week.
Not much else is known about the flick, being produced by the ALIAS creator and MI3 director (and future TREK helmer), but it reportedly involves New York getting attacked by a giant monster, with events "documented" by people in the city. Extra Tidbit: Manhattan will have barely recovered from December's I AM LEGEND before dealing with this new monster menace, set to hit theaters in January 2008.

Secondly, the trailer is awesome. J.J. Abrams is equally awesome. "Lost" is one of the best shows on television, and I consider the pilot episode to be one of the shows best. I'm really looking forward to this movie and hope it remains as secret as they've been keeping it. The mystery has definitely got me intrigued!
