John Carpenter on how he stopped hating on the Halloween series for new film

The last few weeks we have been all but drowning in news surround Blumhouse’s upcoming sequel to John Carpenter’s original classic HALLOWEEN. From on-set pics to official first looks, we’ve had all the HALLOWEEN we can handle. Yeah, right.

Speaking of Blumhouse’s HALLOWEEN, today we have a fun bit from John Carpenter himself on how he came to join the film. The bit comes from a truly fun interview Carpenter held with Rotten Tomatoes recently, and I highly suggest checking out the full interview HERE.

But before that, let’s see what John Carpenter had to say about how he decided to stop hating on the HALLOWEEN series, step up, and be a part of the process again with the new film.

John Carpenter:

You know, you know I talked about the Halloweens for a long time, the sequels — I haven’t even seen all of them. I don’t even know what really was there — but finally, it occurred to me: Well if I’m just flapping my gums here, talking about it, why don’t I try to make it as good as I can? I could offer advice. I could talk to the director. I like the director very much. I like the script. So, you know, stop throwing rocks from the sidelines and get in there and try to do something positive.

I love John Carpenter so f*cking much. The man is brutally honest, yet has such a huge heart for horror. Bless you, Mr. Carpenter. Bless you. HALLOWEEN (2018) synopsis:

Jamie Lee Curtis returns to her iconic role as Laurie Strode, who comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.

The film is directed by David Gordon Green (PINEAPPLE EXPRESS) from a script by Green and Danny McBride and stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Andi Matichak, Judy Greer, James Jude Courtney, and Nick Castle.

Blumhouse’s HALLOWEEN hits theaters October 19, 2018.
