John Travolta teases the idea of a White Christmas remake with Olivia Newton-John

Dec. 13, 2012by: Alex Maidy

Okay, so even after the horrendous piece of garbage that was the John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John music video from their Christmas album. Needless to say, if you havem't seen it, it is painfully bad and the closest thing to a nail in a career coffin that I have seen. Well, Travolta instead is referring to the video as “the video you have to see and can’t stop watching," apparently oblivious to the joke it has become.

Instead, Travolta seems energized by his new interactions with his GREASE costar. In fact, he went as far to say he has an idea for a film the two can make together.

“I have an idea for that,” the Oscar nominee began. “Instead of the video — Olivia’s schedule didn’t permit it, but we were going to do an old-fashioned TV special. And then we thought, maybe a remake of WHITE CHRISTMAS or something would be even more fun. So you know, we’ll see what happens. We’ll see what happens. But this is a great foundation for that.”

So, instead of combating the image scarring rumors that plagued him this year, Travolta seems intent to ignore them and any opinions of him from the general public by contemplating a remake that no one wants or asked for.

Something happened to Travolta in recent years. The guy rocketed back to stardom with PULP FICTION and rode the success clear into the early 2000s, only to have dropped back to the bottom of the A-list/top of the B-list in the last five years. Maybe he just needs to team back up with John Woo or request a part in THE EXPENDABLES 3 to try and reclaim his stardom. Or maybe he just needs to go away.

Expendables 3 would be smart. Or just plain picking better roles for himself.

Pick one of the up and coming film makers out there and get them the budget they need by attaching his name to the project. They get funded and he gets to be in something that doesn't make me question his sanity in a very genuine way.

Needs to be saved from his own horrible taste.

Travolta is a capable actor when paired with a capable director, but when left to his own devices he has the worst taste in material that I've ever seen. He also has a tendency to ham it and go 10 levels over the top and chew the shit out of the scenery when not reigned in. I don't know if the guy is all there anymore. Both he and Cruise seem really bizarre and phony in interviews. It's like they are trying to imitate real humans. But at least Cruise still puts out good movies and didn't take a

Nooooooo...

Damn it I just had gotten over how bad that video was and then Travolta has to pour salt on the wounds, it's time for him to go away.
