Johnny Blaze rides again in this new poster for Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance

There were some pretty rad GHOST RIDER: SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE posters on display at Comic-Con this year. They were comic-art inspired and featured some freaky looks at Ghost Rider in action (you can get a glimpse of them in our Comic-Con photo gallery). Sadly those haven't been released anywhere online and this first official teaser poster is nothing like those at Comic-Con.

This teaser poster is more straightforward than any of those posters. It's not horrible but at least avoids a giant floating head. The first trailer for SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE will be online later today at 12pm EST so make sure you check back for that. Until now, click below to see the full poster over at Superhero Hype.

Well at least it isn't that generic shot of the lead character's as he looks down dramatically that we've seen a hundred times over again.

I'm a huge Nicolas Cage fan but I hated the first "Ghost Rider" film. However, with directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor behind it (I think "Crank" & "Crank: High Voltage" are silly, unpretentious fun) I have much higher hopes for this one. I think we can all agree it's not going to be a masterpiece of it's genre, but this poster has me excited.

Not a great poster BUT...

I'm pretty excited for this movie. Yes, the first movie was so bad that it even made me not like the comic character for some time afterwards. But even though I don't like Nic Cage as J.Blaze, I'm going to give this movie a chance and not go in there like a cynical prick. I'll be open minded. I WANT to love this flick. And I really, really hope I do. Okay poster though. Nothing different, typical teaser stuff.

I didn't like the first one but it seems they got the right tone for the sequel. I probly like it because Nic Cage's head is on fire for about 90% of the trailer.
