Here is the final list of winners for the 2016 Golden Globe Awards!

01.10.2016

I can't believe it folks but the Earth has already made yet another rotation around the Sun and it's that time of the year again. A time when the internet and social media come together to politely discuss and debate who deserves to win the big gold statues of Hollywood and why...*sarcastic snicker*. Ah I'm only kidding, this is an awesome time for all movie fans and for those who love super-talented English comedians roasting other celebrities while chugging down a delicious pint of Guinness. It all begins tonight with the 2016 Golden Globe Awards and we will be here once again to guide you through the entire ceremony!

Yes indeed everybody, our LIVE CHAT & TWITTER FEED is returning once again and we invite ANYBODY and EVERYBODY to join in on what is always a very entertaining time as movie fans come together to discuss the events as they happen. When the live chat window appears below this paragraph tonight, you can join in using your Facebook/Twitter accounts or just log in as a Guest if you'd prefer. Again everybody is welcome and I'll be updating this article and chatting with all of you throughout the entire event starting at 7:30pm EST (showtime at 8pm EST). As I also mentioned, our very own Editor-In-Chief Paul Shirey will be bringing you every moment as it happens during our LIVE TWITTER FEED @JoBlo Twitter page. So come join us for the show, discuss the winners, have some laughs and we look forward to seeing you there.

The Martian is a comedy

I don't understand why people are outraged that The Martian was in the comedy category. It's a comedy science fiction movie. What's the issue? It's not merely a drama with comedic parts - the spirit of the movie is clearly very comedic in tone throughout the entire film. It's a comedic film with drama rather than a drama with comedic parts,

Thumbs down for “Writing's on the Wall” from SPECTRE winning.

That song was atrociously bad. When Sam Smith's voice got high, it was cringe worthy. So excruciating. And I have no idea who he is. Him singing this song is the first time I've ever heard him sing. I didn't even know who he was until after I heard it.

A decent song. SEE YOU AGAIN is excellent and deserved to win. Even LOVE ME LIKE YOU DO is better.

2 things: I cannot believe FARGO didn't win, and Christian Slater did not deserve an award for his Mr. Robot role. That show is awful.
Extremely happy for Sly, and it was a deserved win, not a sympathy win. Same goes for Leo.
I agree with Roy Batty that Mad Max better win at the Oscars.

I didn't hate MR. ROBOT, but I found it to be overrated and found Christian Slater's performance to be just OK.

Few issues

I've never taken the Golden Globes seriously. If anything, they're more political than the Oscars which was very evident last night. First, Lady Gaga winning any acting category is a clear sign of an award show trying to appeal to a younger audience because if anyone has seen the latest season of American Horror Story, they would see Gaga as a stiff stand-in for Jessica Lange who opted to not return for another season. First, Lady Gaga winning any acting category is a clear sign of an award show trying to appeal to a younger audience because if anyone has seen the latest season of American Horror Story, they would see Gaga as a stiff stand-in for Jessica Lange who opted to not return for another season. Second, I'm still not getting over "The Martian" being nominated for a comedy or musical category. I'm glad that was an ongoing criticism made by the recipients (Damon and Scott) as well as the presenters (Carrey and Gervais). Finally, if there's one thing that went surprisingly well was The Revenant getting the awards it deserves. A lot of people are calling it award bait, which it very well might be, but from DiCaprio's captivating performance to Alejandro's commitment to taking a chance with such a project speaks volumes to his ability to direct. However, George Miller spent over two decades developing Mad Max and the film has been met with mass appeal from both critics and the general audience, and I hope it gets more love from other award ceremonies going forward.

1) I do think Gaga's performance is good, and that really means something from someone who has hated the latest season of the show.
2) The time it takes to develop a movie doesn't always reflect the quality, so that's not really relevant. However, if you think the final result of MAD MAX 4 is better than the final result of THE REVENANT, it's completely valid.

It turns out that Ricky Gervais isn't the only one willing to say "forbidden" things on T.V. Mel Gibson's comebacks and Jaimie Alexander's reaction to the prompter were very funny. Also, there were so many unpredictable winners (mainly in the TV categories).

I consider it a comedy. There were a lot of jokes in that movie and quite a few moments that made me laugh. I would argue that it was funnier than some movies that try to be a comedy (like, for example, Hpt Tub Time Machine 2, which I watched for free on Hulu and rarely chuckled.)

Remi got Robbed!

I am fine with all the awards but Jon Hamm...no...great actor but I feel he won because it was 'his time' and the series is done. Remi should have won. Brilliant portrayal.
