Jude Law, Christopher Lee, & Ray Winstone cast in Scorsese's Hugo Cabret

Martin Scorsese's next film, THE INVENTION OF HUGO CABRET is already starting off with a great cast: Ben Kingsley, Sacha Baron Cohen, and Chloe Moretz.

Now add a few more names to that list to up the greatness: Jude Law, Ray Winstone, and Christopher Lee. The Hollywood Reporter also mentions that Frances de la Tour (ALICE IN WONDERLAND) and Richard Griffiths (HARRY POTTER) were cast as well.

HUGO CABRET "tells the story of an orphan living in the walls of a Paris train station who encounters a broken machine, an eccentric girl and a reserved toy shop manager." The screenplay was penned by John Logan (THE AVIATOR). CABARET will be released by Sony in December of 2011.

As you might also already know Scorsese got on the bandwagon and is filming in 3D, which was a good move on his part. I don't know if this world can handle anymore conversions.

Once this thing moves further along in shooting, it will be nice to see some stills. I'm really interested in Scorsese's vision for the project. I like the new additions to the cast, especially Winstone. I wonder what he does when he's not busting heads open and telling people what to do...

Extra Tidbit: Chris Wedge (ICE AGE) was originally going to helm this project.
