Juno Temple, hipster actress extraordinaire, is in talks to star as the queen in THE THREE MUSKETEERS, the Paul WS Anderson directed 3D take on the classic tale. Temple would join the previously cast Logan Lerman, Christoph Waltz, Milla Jovovich, Ray Stevenson, Mads Mikkelsen, Luke Evans and Matthew Macfayden.
Temple, daughter of frequent Sex Pistols documentarian Julian Temple, is probably best known for playing Eena, Michael Cera’s love interest in YEAR ONE. But being best known for YEAR ONE is probably not something one wants to brag about. She did have a supporting role earlier this year in GREENBERG and has a film at Cannes, KABOOM! (exclamation emphasis theirs, not mine).
MUSKETEERS is rushing through pre-production to beat Doug Liman’s rival THREE MUSKETEERS that is set up at Warner Bros. While both films are scheduled to begin shooting this fall, only Anderson’s version has casting locked and appears to have the pole position. Summit Entertainment will distribute here in the US.
