Jurassic World wraps filming today!

08.05.2014

It's been a ridiculously long road to bring Jurassic Park 4 to cinemas, and while we're not at the end of that road yet, we are a giant step t-rex-sized step closer. Uber-producer Frank Marshall tweeted a picture of today's callsheet that indicates not only who will be involved in the last scenes shot, but also that it will be the last scenes shot for principal photography. It looks like Bryce Dallas Howard is on-hand as Claire, and that we have some Point-of-View shots in-store. Fine, good, whatever, just get it done!

While Jurassic Park 2 and 3 brought some interesting elements into the game, neither of those lived up to the potential established in the first film. I think it's a great testament to that film that fans, despite having experienced two sub-par sequels, are clamoring for more. It's been more than two decades since JURASSIC PARK hit theaters but from the sound of it, JURASSIC WORLD will be worth the wait. Chris Pratt has proved himself as a lead that audiences are willing to see with the now wildly successful GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, so all that's left is for director Colin Trevorrow to oversee the effects and any re-shoots that may be needed, and we have our Jurassic Park 4! To put it mildly, I can't f*cking wait!

JURASSIC WORLD will hit theaters June 12, 2015.

In other news, Jeff Goldblum recently attended a wedding . . .

This series of books and films means a lot to a lot of people and I hope Trevorrow taps into just enough nostalgia. Really looking forward to it!

This is the first article, to the best of my memory, that ive ever seen written with the sole purpose to inform us that a production has wrapped principal photography. I'vegot to admit, I like the enthusiasm ;)

I think there was one for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 as well.

I'm still not sure how the genetically modified dinosaur plot will play out. Seems like there are plenty of real dinosaurs to choose from to make this movie. But other than that I like most of what I've seen so far. Jurassic Park to me is like the Bond series, even the not-so-good films in the series are entertaining in their own way, so I will be there opening day.

I love this sudden phase where up-and-coming directors are given these huge opportunities to produce dream projects. First Garath Edwards on Godzilla, James Gunn on Guardians and Trevorrow on this! I'm confident that this is the true Jurassic sequel we've been wanting.

Can't wait for a trailer!

"It's been more than a decade since JURASSIC PARK hit theaters"... Well a bit more than that pal, 21 years to be exact. I wonder how serious Chris Pratt can act in a movie like this, I mean I sure he can but I really look forward for the result.

Speilberg originally wanted Harrison Ford to star in Jurassic Park. If Jurassic World is a hit and they make another, I'd love to see Ford cast in a supporting role to Pratt.

I can't wait for this movie to come out next year! The Jurassic Park movies have always been a fun ride. And while yes JP3 was horrible, this certainly seems like they are eager to right a lot of the wrong that movie did. And frankly, I'm a bit over-killed with all the superhero franchises (still seeing them, it just feels like more of a chore at this point), so it will be nice to see something new in a summer blockbuster movie.

I guess the T-Rex is angry because it failed to catch the bouquet with its tiny little arms?

I still have a hunch that Neill, Goldblum, and/or Dern may pop up in this film in some capacity considering how big and vital their characters were and are. Would be a nice surprise if they did.

But I'm all psyched for a trip back to the island with Star Lord leading the way.

Agreed, but if they don't make an appearance than no harm done. There's something to be said about letting this film stand on it's own merits rather than rely on nostalgia to get fans' acceptance.

Agree. It would be a nice nod if they did show up, but I'm all for these new set of characters to carry on the franchise.
