This is the story of a boy and his older man friend who teaches him to kick other kids asses.

Kids are going to love this! The trailer for KARATE KID has debuted and it's a little better than I thought it would be. There's always a certain amount of corn that goes in with this type of movie, but KID may not have as many kernels.

I have a feeling the young boys will really enjoy this. They'll see it and want everything KARATE KID related. At some point they might also hit their Mom up for some karate classes. Well, that's how I felt after I watched NINJA TURTLES. Obviously the film isn't aimed toward the age demographic that this site caters to. With that knowledge, if I were an 9 year old boy, I'd be impressed.

great another fighting movie that uses the same damn fort minor song to make their trailer sound epic and you get into theaters and its just like all the other fight movies. I like that song but theres seriously like 5 other movies that use it in their trailer.

Wow everybody is so cool talking trash about the Karate Kid remake, you're so smart and cynical.



I for one say this looks pretty damn good. If there is anything that I didn't like about the trailer it's merely the use of the Fort Minor track which was also prominently used in the trailer for Fighting.

Chan finally looks cool again, Henson is always great and Smith soon...

This is so sad in so many ways. Destroying little parts of my childhood 1 movie/remake at a time, THANKS HOLLY (WE AREN'T EVEN TRYING ANY MORE) WOOD. I'm sure all the kids will flock to this, then they will have see 2 or 3 sequels like we did as kids, then they will have to watch get remade again in another 25 years! BOOO!!!!

Great. Not only can't I beat Will Smith's ass. Now I can't beat his son's either. He probably wouldn't even crane kick me. Little fucker.



Surprisingly though. This seems kinda promising. I'll save this for drunk Jackie Chan night at my house. I'll just sub in this for Rush Hour 3. Pretty much a waste of time anyway.

ya know this is probably going to be a whole lot better than it has any right to be
And i think thats whats going to piss Arrogant fanboys off the most; something that has no business being anywhere near good not only being well done but more importantly satisfying. I really dont see why there's this much animosity towards this film. Yeah the original Karate kid was good but it was'nt some grand epic. This movie is probably going to wind up being more different from that movie...

And as far as people getting on will for putting his kid in movies, thats called grooming and carrying on the family legacy.

It's like the TOKYO DRIFT version of KARATE KID, but worse. And they changed "wax on, wax off" to "put on your jacket, take off your jacket?" Doesn't have quite the same ring. I dunno, I'm sure the kids will love it (some of them), but this just looks fucking awful.

It is TOTALLY DIFFERENT from The Karate Kid. Why not just call it something else?? This has nothing to do with Daniel, Miayagi, Elizabeth Shue, body bags, Cobra Kai, and crane kicks. None of that is here.

I was totally ready to laugh and diss this, but it looks surprisingly decent. Jackie Chan isn't acting like a goofy cartoon, and Jayden seems like he can handle this. And I don't really care about the whole karate/kung-fu snafu, and I doubt most people even know the difference.

Hollywood is pushing both Jaden Smith and Sam Worthington on audiences. But I gotta tell ya, I think Jaden is a hell of a lot more interesting than Sam Worthington. At least Jaden has a cool dad.

They never should have touched this BUT... BUT I will say that I am really digging the "mentor type" vibe coming from Jackie Chan. I love that guy and seeing him not act like a goofball for a change is nice.

out of many things messed up about this project. the one that got me thinking was why they called it Karate Kid when there in china and hes being taught Kung Fu. Oh well. They shouldn't have messed with this anyways.

not a bad trailer - if its done right and the other movie is given enough respectable nod - then ok - but shouldnt it be called the kung fu kid? i know that most would say karate came from china then spread into japan, but it would seem more appropriate since its in china not japan. huh?

Looks pretty shit on most levels, but it does seem that the martial arts coreography might be better in this remake (I would hope so too, it's seriously ropey in the original)

wow looks like this movie is getting a lot of hate! I don't think it looks bad at all. It's not something that I would rush out to see in the theaters, but I'm not a 9 year old boy either. I might pick it up on dvd though.

This movie is a disgrace to the memory of The Karate Kid! "Pick up your jacket" is supposed to be the Kung Fu equivalent to "Wax on, Wax off"?! Ridiculous! And why didn't they just call it Kung Fu Kid? There isn't even any Karate in this!

It just bothers me that this is set in CHINA with JACKIE CHAN teaching KARATE. It should be KUNG FU. Because as anyone with a brain knows, Kung Fu is Chinese while Karate is Japanese!
