Karen Gillan would love to reboot Wes Craven’s Scream

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

One of my favorite up-and-coming horror actresses is Karen Gillan from Mike Flanagan's OCULUS. Okay, so maybe she's not exactly "up-and-coming" as she is about a week and a half from being a household name, but still.

It's with this in mind I'm excited by even the idea of Gillan working on one of my favorite slasher franchise of all-time. The actress was recently out and about talking up her new JUMANJI movie with GameSpot, and when the conversation slipped into which '90s reboots she'd want to star in he had a killer answer.

Karen Gillan:

I think probably remaking Scream–to play the killer in Scream! I just have this idea that it would be so funny to have like, a really Scottish girl on the end of the phone. Like, 'What's your favorite scary movie?'

I don't know about you but I would love to see Karen Gillan in a reboot of SCREAM – or, hell a straight sequel with Neve Campbell and crew back for more mayhem. But I think I dream at this point. What do you think of a Karen Gillan-lead SCREAM reboot? Make sure to hit us up and let us know in the comments below or on social media!

SCREAM (1996) synopsis:

The sleepy little town of Woodsboro just woke up screaming. There's a killer in their midst who's seen a few too many scary movies. Suddenly nobody is safe, as the psychopath stalks victims, taunts them with trivia questions, then rips them to bloody shreds. It could be anybody…
