Karl Urban takes the lawmaster bike to the streets in this set photo from Dredd

01.21.2011

Judge Dredd is the law and this is his new lawmaster.

Aside from Dredd's weapon of choice the lawgiver, his ride of choice has, "machineguns, a powerful laser cannon, and full artificial intelligence capable of responding to orders from the Judge and of driving itself." The bikes are all driven by Judges in Mega-City One.

The bike from the '95 version with Sly Stallone looks very much like the one from the comics. The new lawmaster has a new sort of minimal design. I'd really like to see the front of the bike before making any real judgment. Within this new set pic is also the full look at the new costume. It kind of looked like a ninja turtle costume to me at first, not going to lie.

Below you will see the new costume and bike from DREDD. I've also provided a photo from the '95 film and the comic just to contrast and compare.

Extra Tidbit: Totally forgot Rob Schneider was in the '95 version. I bet you guys didn't.

ROFL

Man I am not a big fan one way or the other but it looks like they are killing this movie. I am all for new visions but this looks terrible. Looks like he is riding a giant nose, he should look intimidating not comical...unless that is the way they are going, maybe its a drinking/stoner movie.

bloody hell

excuse me but WTF?? that was my first thought on seeing the Bike and costume. how hard can it be these days to make exact replicas of something fans have been reading for decades, they might a well have just painted a sinclair c5 black and red for how accurate they got it. I had high hopes for this movie but now im not keen at all.

Not again.......

Agree with previous comments. How bloody hard is it to make a bike that looks like the good old comic lawmaster. with huge tyres like the batpod in The Dark Knight. If you watch the trailer for Priest it has bikes in that which look more like the lawmaster than this.

Honestly...I give up.

They still didn't get the tires right dammit! Not for Stallone and not for Urban either. The tires are supposed to be monstrously fat. What the hell are Wagner and Jock working on the movie for if they cant get it right? Oh well, I guess its just a detail, as is the lack of the gigantic chin. But they better get the rest of it right.

As I recall they tried building the bike with super thick tires for the last Dredd movie and it turned out to need some insanely large turning-circle (or sloped corners) so that it could move, so they ditched the concept and went with regular/flying bikes.

Cool, but they could have shot the film with two bikes and make it look like the tires are fat anyway. Batman figured it out somehow.

I loved the 95 Dredd, and I love that Karl Urban is suiting up in this one. Rob Schneider was in both the 95 Dredd and the very fun Demolition Man. I always got a kick out of that.

If it's just the costume and props...

I think I like the last movie better.Because it's closer to the comics and just looks better. This one seems to try a more down to earth gritty future. Not bad just a matter of choice.

They could of saved a bunch of time, money and effort. If they just busted into the props storage of the 1995 judge Dredd film and used that.

REALLY REALLY REALLY looking forward to this one. I've been reading all the comics over again from 2000 AD and the collections, so I'm primed for Dredd!
