Katee Sackhoff addresses the Ms. Marvel rumors

09.11.2013

Recently there were rumors that RIDDICK's Katee Sackhoff could possibly play Ms. Marvel. This all spurred from a comment that Kevin Feige made that kinda sorta implicated that they were looking to bring more female characters to the screen and kinda sorta tossed out "Captain Marvel". Then somewhere else in the blogosphere, Sackhoff didn't try to fan the fires concerning a possible Marvel meet-up.

Nice to drum up some good PR, I say.

When speaking with Crave, the actress addressed rumors connecting her to the character or even that Marvel meeting:

"You know, you say one thingÖ People love a good story, even if itís a story that has very little truth to it. If you go back and actually listen to what I said, I said that people have checked my availability. I never said Marvel [or] Disney so itís interesting how people twist stories to serve an agenda that makes people click on their site, or sell their papers."

She continuedÖ

"I absolutely have not spoken to Marvel. It doesnít mean that my team hasnít spoken to Marvel. I personally have not spoken to Marvel and have no plans to do a movie in the immediate future, because number one Iím tied up with Somnia which is a fantastic place to be. Itís exactly where I wanted to be."

Of course she's not against playing the part if it ever truly does come up:

"Yeah, Iím sure if we dug deep enough there is a sect of fans that donít want me for Ms. Marvel so letís just leave it at they want me for Ms. Marvel and thatíd be fantastic. I would love to do the role. Of course I would love to do the role. I think that itís in my wheelhouse and I would enjoy it. Iíd be stupid to turn down a Marvel movie but as far as I know, Ms. Marvel isnít even in the next movie."

I think she's a badass fit for a hero role so can we get on that?
