Michael Keaton has been cast in the upcoming TOY STORY 3. Jodi Benson, who voiced Ariel in THE LITTLE MERMAID also joins the production. Not much is known about the project, save for a snippet that was handed to the Wall Street Journal: “Woody the cowboy and his toy-box friends are dumped in a day-care center after their owner, Andy, leaves for college.”

Apparently Benson will be playing a Barbie, but I'm pretty sure there's still time for us to lobby and get that chick to play Ariel again. I don't care what anyone says, red-head mermaids who don't know shit about human life are hot. You can tell them anything and they'll buy it. People might tell you it isn't true love but it would probably be pretty easy to score sex so you can make up your own mind about that.

...as stated by "Madine"...Benson has Toy Story to her credits already. If you took the time to look, you'll see her face emblazoned next to the image of a Barbie flight attendant in the Toy Story Franchise on IMDB, the simplest place to research EVER.

I think Thoo just writes from memory and does no research AT ALL.

As for Slinky Dog, they have many options. They may just not have him in the movie. Would it be horrible if they cast someone else to do the voice? RIP Jim Varney, but it is not like someone is taking over the Ernest character...

I thought about Keaton in Cars as Chick as well - that would be awesome if he was playing a Ken/arrogant character like in Cars. He's a perfect foil, and given the premise of having Barbie injected, I'm wondering if its going that route - I can see Andy's toys dumped in a playcenter and finding themselves having to fit in with the more popular toys, maybe like a theme about cliques which would be

With Buzz getting down to earth, they need a Chick Hicks-like character to mix it up some more. I'm really happy about this project, because over the past few years I've become very affectionate toward what Pixar does. (ah, parenthood...)

ah, don't you remember?
Keaton played Chick Hicks in Cars. He was awesome and made a huge impression on John Lasseter. I'm sure he's made his mark as a go to guy for Pixar.
If you watch cars again just listen to Chicks' in your face ravings, you can just picture Keaton in the sound booth going nuts.

I like how Pixar is continuing the Story of Andy's inevitable growing up to be a man and going to college phase and not just going allong and making an another day at Any's room kind of film, I like how Pixar takles dificult situations in their films and yet end up making them work, I can't wait.

Awesome. Bringing Benson is a nice touch but Keaton is made of win and it's awesome to hear his casting in Toy Story 3.

I'm a big Michael Keaton fan, so this is great news. Hopefully his career will get back on track eventually. I would love to see Beetlejuice 2, but I don't think Tim Burton wants to make it. Maybe he could give Keats a role in his new Alice in Wonderland movie. It's a shame that such a great actor can't get any quality movie roles anymore.

Also, it's too bad that Jim Varney passed away. Toy
