Kellan Lutz and Kelsey Grammer take on spiders in Nest

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Kellan Lutz and Kelsey Grammer have signed on to star in NEST,  a sci-fi thriller creature feature that is currently being guided through pre-production by the same team that made the 2012 shark movie BAIT. The EXPENDABLES 3 co-stars join the previously announced star Li Bingbing (RESIDENT EVIL: RETRIBUTION).

The biggest budgeted Chinese/Australian co-production ever, NEST is set to be directed by Kimble Rendall and

revolves around a team of scientists who while making the discovery of the century lose a colleague in an ancient labyrinth. The group must battle their way through a swarm of deadly, man-eating funnel web spiders and discover the secret behind the insects’ power and intelligence – before it’s too late.

Bingbing is producing the film with Gary Hamilton, Ying Ye, Mark Lazarus, and Serena Deng.

NEST will be filmed in Australia's Gold Coast, and like BAIT it will be presenting its nature-gone-amok horrors in 3D.

While I'm not all that familiar with Bingbing and Lutz, the thought of getting to see Frasier himself do battle with a swarm of deadly spiders does put a smile on my face.
